Ship Parcel Separately

Often merchants have a product that they sell which comes in a specific box that should be shipped alone in that box.   And even if its in an order which has other items that technically could be combined into one shipment and still stay under the carrier's size/weight limits, the requirement is to ship it separately as its own parcel.

A common example is a carton of beer or case of wine which a dozen bottles is less than half a 25kg parcel limit, most merchants would not want to strap it to another or put it in a bigger box to combine it when 2 are purchased.

Joovii Apps supports this option in both quoting for the checkout and also booking.    The way to set it depends on whether you have the legacy dimensions setup in the app, or Shopify metafields method.

Shopify Metafields

For merchants using the newer Shopify metafields method we would recommend creating a metafield which reflects the decision to ship separately.

Use this metafield to flag specific products that must always ship in their own parcel, separate from other items in the order. Leaving it unset is treated as false (normal packing).

Metafield Name:   Ship Separately

Namespace:  custom.ship_separately

Type:  True or False

Dimensions in the app (Legacy):

In this setup dimensions are recorded in the Joovii App and along side each sku's dimensions field is a tick box for "item ships separately".
